AW 2012/2013
The modern woman according to Irina Schrotter is distinguished by her sense of humor. She doesn’t go for epic dramas, but is rather oriented towards the small and timeless things in life, and details that lend her an effortless dainty character.
In her current collection, Schrotter seeks to decode the mystery of the apocalypse, the conglomeration of undefined emotions, complete and brave femininity. The theme of apocalypse –a complete melt-down and amalgamation of all matter—also recurs in the materials and forms of the current collection. Schrotter’s use of fabrics is innovative; she works with cotton as outer layer for overcoats, and combines soft silks with a type of leather that she developed together with a Portuguese designer. The cuts are very geometrical and so create a dialogue with the seemingly extraterrestrial accessories. The color palette is autumnal, with details in nude and burgundy.
